The Challenge

In 1985, the Principals of LMG were part of the Sasaki Team retained by the City of Ft. Lauderdale to change its image away from the “Spring Break” reputation to a more sophisticated and consistent community asset.

The Solution

The breakthrough concept was the relocation of southbound A1A away from the ocean and the transition from oceanfront parking to side streets. The City’s $14 million investment in creating this unobstructed view to the ocean and wide pedestrian facilities has been followed by billions in private investment.

The Result

The result is a financially stable asset that contributes to the regional economy and has an international reputation.
